You can direct the Destiny Fundraising Manager to send a series of email messages, on specific dates, throughout a campaign. Schedule up to eight emails in the series.
Example: You create a campaign to raise funds to buy iPads for your school’s K-3 classrooms. You want to send parents three messages – one every two weeks over the six-week campaign. To do this, you create three email templates: the first introduces the campaign, the second addresses the importance of technology skills in elementary school, and the third acts as a last-chance reminder to donate.
Before scheduling a series of email messages, do the following:
Create an email template for each email message.
Note: Each email contains an Unsubscribe link that recipients can click to opt out of all future email messages from Destiny Fundraising Manager.
To set up a series of automated email messages:
In the header, select Fundraisers > Campaigns. The Campaigns page appears.
In the row of the campaign you want to work with, select the gear icon > Promote/Email.
A pop-up appears. At Send a Mass E-Mail to Potential Donors When Your Campaign is Published, click Click Here to Manage.
A pop-up appears. Click the Sequenced Mass-Email sub-tab.
On the pop-up, note that the campaign's end date appears in the top-right:
At Contact Group, click the drop-down and select the contact type who will receive this message.
Note: You can only select one Contact Group.
Below the Add Email Template, three fields for Email 1 appear:
Click the Select Email Template drop-down and select the email template that corresponds to this email in the series.
Today’s date appears in the second field. To select a different date, click the date to see a calendar and make your selection. You can also adjust the time at which the email will be sent.
Your time zone appears in the field at right. Click the drop-down menu and select a different time zone (if needed).
Click Add Email Template. Three fields for the next email appear.
Repeat steps 6 through 9 for each email in the series.
The last field, Check this box if you do not want contacts who have donated to your campaign to receive scheduled emails, is selected by default. Deselect the checkbox if desired.
Do one of the following:
To test your settings, click Send Test Email (First in Sequence). In the pop-up, type up to five email addresses, separated by a comma, and then click Send Test Email. Verify that the recipient(s) receive Email 1 on the specified date.
To complete the process, click Schedule Mass Email. You return to the Campaigns page.
Notes:
You can select the gear icon > Promote/Email > Send a Mass-Email to Potential Donors When Your Campaign is Published > Click Here to Manage > Sequenced Mass-Email to view a pop-up with details about the scheduled emails.
To cancel the email series, click Cancel on the pop-up.
